Shooting Evaluation...

The filming over these past few weeks has been more difficult than we expected it to be. Locations were a problem and also finding time that we were all free to shoot also proved difficult. There we too other factors which affected our video which we couldn't control, such as the weather.

LOCATIONS WE SHOT AT:
-Dawn's House (Arbury)
-Outside E.g Walkways & Bushes
-Indoor locations such as Kitchen, Lounge, Bathrooms & Bedrooms.
-The Hall For Stage Shots & Floor Shots
-Corridors, For Blank Backgrounds

FACTORS WHICH AFFECTED FILMING:
-Weather; Days we planned to shoot on had bad weather which made it very difficult for us to gain bright looking, clear shots. However, we overcame this problem and used props such as umbrella's to create and effect.
-Spare time; This made shooting rather difficult as we had to cancel twice as the four of us all wanted to be present and take part in the work. But we did find two days in which we could all make it, and we are pleased that we had a good input into the work individually.

POSITIVE COMMENTS ON OUR FOOTAGE SO FAR:
- Our shots include various locations
- We have a clear narrative and hope to make it clear when we put it all together
- The costumes have been well thought out and there are three obvious clothing changes.
- We shot lots of footage and had to film over previous footage to fit all of our idea in
- We did test footage at the very start, to see what sort of shots worked and what didn't.

THINGS WE STILL HAVE TO DO:
- Edit all of our footage
- Include transitions into each clip
- Think about our planning and try to link our ideas to what we had originally planned
- Make sure our 'narrative' is clear
- Test out split-screens and fades to see if they work
- Edit shots e.g. tilts, zoom in's etc to make them more specific and abstract
- Change the colour of our shots, consider flashbacks colour being more saturated, maybe even black and white

OTHER IDEAS WE HAVE THOUGHT OF:
- We came up with the idea of the couple laying in different beds and using a split screen to show them looking at each other without realising.
- We also shot some scenes of them walking up a path, then turning different ways.
- And we used an extreme close up of their hands as they parted to focus even more on the idea of them 'breaking up'
- We used shots of their faces, up side down singing to add more effect

IDEAS WE STUCK TO:
- Shots of them singing against blank walls
- Drinking coffee
- Mirror Shots
- Waking up

IDEAS WE ABANDONED:
- We didn't use the idea of running for a train as we thought this would be in the way of the public and also too difficult to time it perfectly.
- We didn't use shots of them singing through crowds as it would be hard to find people who would want to be shot and also it would be difficult to find a street that busy
- Shots on the train, looking out the window and in a car we also didn't do, however, we did shoot some more interesting shots in the car of him through the mirror
- The photo dropping on the floor was also another idea that we had, we have however shot some shots of the photo so if we want to include it we can.

Our main objective when shooting our music video was to shoot more than we needed so that we had as much footage as possible. This was also so we could mess about with the shots when we got back into the classroom to give ourselves more ideas. We also tried to shoot in more plain backgrounds so that we could focus much more onto the singer rather than the location. However, we do think that location does make a difference in our footage.

PLANS WE HOPE WILL WORK:
- We hope the 'flashback' idea will work well with our narrative
- We aim to use tilting and more editing transitions which will make our video more abstract. This will make it more unique and hopefully more eye catching to the target audience.
- The filming of the two main characters which are similar shots can hopefully be made into split screen shots to show that it is happening at the same time and they are
similar to each other. This will help explain the narrative to the audience.

These images show the sort of shots we have included in our footage, we hope to make them look impressive.
