INDUSTRY VIDEOS SIMILAR TO OURS

The first video we found that was similar to ours was Leanne Rhymes and Ronan Keating, 'Last Thing On My Mind'. There are various things in common to our music video's features, these are;
  1. Both of them sing in different places and when their part comes on they sing so the editing is similar.
  2. They are in different locations then they come together
  3. He strokes her face when they sing together, this is similar to our shots because they are in love like our actors.
  4. Some shots were set in a car driving along
Another video that was similar to our music production was Robbie Williams and Kylie, 'Do It For The Kids'. For Example,

  1. The Shots at the start had close ups of kylie and robbie's facial features, for example her eyes, which is similar to what we did with dawn at the very beginning of or video also.
  2. Kylie sings first, which is similar to our video as dawn is the first of the two to sing which makes more focus on the female.
  3. They use shots of both of them looking at each other and singing together, which is similar to some of the end shots that we have used.
  4. The video is very 'Grease' orientated for example them walking up the stairs together however our video does not have a certain theme, but the idea of romance and wanting someone fits into our video.
  5. The video uses quick shots near the end when the beat becomes faster, which is like our video too.

JOB TITLES

PRODUCER
Phone Calls To Locations- We didn't need to make any phone calls as the places we shot at didn't need permission.

Organised Schedules- As a group, we sat down and organised what sort of times and days we could all be free for shooting.

Timing- We made sure everyone was in the right place at the right time.

Organised Transport- We organised lifts and got buses, so that we could all meet up on time.

Booking, Hiring, Borrowing Equipment- We had to arrange when we could hire out the camera so that everyone was present for filming.

Making Decisions- We made decisions about shooting and ideas in the planning stage.Í

DIRECTOR
Discussing and developing a concept- During planning and shooting, we talked about our ideas changing etc to get a better looking video.

Visualising- We all aimed for an overall look for the video, a specific identity.

Making Decisions, Shot Movements, Framing, Angles- We thought carefully about framing out all of the background etc, to make the shots look professional.

Encouraging Performances- The performers were encouraged to make natural but energetic performances to make the song come alive.

Overseeing The Editing Decisions- Lots of decisions were changed when we were editing the material we made, to make the footage look more alive.

CINEMATOGRAPHER
Working Out How To Achieve Directors Decision- We had to make sure all the shots looked good and had to think how its going to look when you get back to the computer.

Lighting The Set- Most of our shots were dark so we depended on light editing.

Overseeing The Operation Of The Camera- We had to be abstract and artistic when thinking about shots.

EDITOR
Uploading And Logging the footage- Footage was all kept safe so that we had all of our rough footage etc just incase we changed our ideas.

Organising The Time Lines- We had to arrange the timeline into seperate ones e.g. storyline and rough-cut time line and final time line etc.

Lip Syncing- Everything had to be in sync so that the singers were natural and looked professional.

Deciding Where To Cut- We were careful where we cut so that we wouldnt loose our footage.

Inserting Transitions- Transitions cut up our footage to make it look more interesting etc.

Trying Out Different Combinations Of Shots- We wanted everything to look the same,
however we liked the idea of using abstract shots.

Making Decisions Of The Overall Shape And Pace Of The Video- We aimed for a clear narrative and tried to make the pace fit to the beat of the song.
